Debatable vs ArguFight

Both give you an opponent and an AI verdict. They differ on almost everything else. ArguFight is a text debate you play over hours, scored by a panel of AI judges. Debatable is a live video round with a real person, judged while the round is still fresh.

Every ArguFight claim below comes from argufight.com and its App Store listing as read on October 28, 2026. Debatable publishes this page. If something has changed, tell us and we will fix it.

What a round looks like on each

ArguFight

You sign in, pick a topic, and either post an open challenge in the arena or take one someone else posted. The two of you trade written arguments, five rounds over 24 hours in the standard format or three rounds in an hour in speed mode. You can dictate instead of typing. When the last turn is in, up to three AI judges, drawn from a roster of six personalities, each score both sides from 0 to 100 and explain their reasoning; the majority decides. Your ELO moves, and the debate can be watched by others.

Debatable

You sign in with Google, Apple or email, answer a few questions about how you want to be matched, and enter the queue. When two people are seated, you settle on a topic together and take opposite sides. The round runs on video, as an open conversation or with timed speeches. When it ends, the AI judge writes a decision: who won, a score out of 100 for each side, the clash that decided it, and the reason. Your rating updates, and if both of you agree, the replay goes on Watch.

Where each one is weaker

ArguFight

Nothing happens in real time, so there is no interruption, no reading the other person, and no reason to be in the same place at the same time. Its App Store copy and its website describe the round differently (real-time voice on one, turn-based rounds over hours on the other). Its own pages give two different country counts.

Debatable

You need a camera and a quiet half hour, and someone has to be in the queue when you are. There are no phone apps on the stores. Written, asynchronous debate is not something Debatable offers.

Questions people ask

What is ArguFight?

A text debate platform from Donkey Ideas LLC with a web app, an iOS app and an Android app. You post or accept a challenge, exchange written arguments over a day (five rounds in 24 hours) or an hour (three rounds), optionally dictating them by voice, and up to three AI judges score each side out of 100 with written reasoning. It keeps an ELO rating and runs tournaments. Its site says base debating is free forever.

What is Debatable?

A live debate platform where two people meet on camera in the browser, agree on a topic, take opposite sides and talk it out, with timed speeches if they want them. An AI judge then writes a decision naming the winner, scoring both sides out of 100 and explaining why. Rounds feed a public leaderboard, and replays can be watched without an account.

Which one is live and which one is turn-based?

Debatable rounds happen live, on video, with both people in the room at the same time. ArguFight rounds are asynchronous: you write a turn, the other side replies when they are back, and the standard format runs over 24 hours. ArguFight's App Store copy mentions real-time voice debates; its own website describes the turn-based rounds, so we have described what the website says.

Does either one use video?

Debatable does, and the camera is on for everyone in a seat. ArguFight is text, with optional voice dictation, and has no video.

Which one is free?

Both have a free way in. ArguFight says base debating is free forever, with in-app purchases listed on Google Play. Debatable's free plan includes live rounds with people after sign-in, with paid plans from $10 a year for more; the pricing page is the source of truth.

Which should I pick?

Pick ArguFight if you want to argue in writing at your own pace, on your phone, with a scored verdict at the end. Pick Debatable if you want to argue with a person face to face, under a clock, and read a written decision while the round is still fresh.

Try the round, then decide.

One sign-in, a topic you both accept, a real person on the other side, and a judge who explains the result.
