Your first round.
No debate experience needed. This is what happens from pressing Match to reading the decision, and what the round feeds afterwards.
Meet someone.
Press Match with someone. Signed out, you create a free account first. Signed in, you go straight into the queue and get paired with whoever is waiting right now. Want a say in who you meet? Tap Want to personalize on the searching screen. Otherwise you meet the first available person. Both of you accept before the room opens, and you can pass.

The room offers five topics. Each of you strikes two. Strikes are blind until both people commit, and the topic left standing is the question. Then sides are set: one person argues For, the other Against. You can argue a view you do not hold. Have your own question? Type it in, or bring one from the topics pages.

Debate it.
Press Start conversation when you are both ready. The default is a conversation with both microphones open and you decide together when to finish. Want structure? Switch to timed speeches: six speeches, 18 minutes, with the clock on screen. Either person can ask for extra time on a speech and both have to agree. Camera on, as yourself or as an avatar. The round is transcribed as you go, and the AI can raise a fact check to the audience mid-speech.

When the round ends, a panel of AI judges reads the transcript against the published rubric: a clear claim, support, a direct response to the other side, comparison, and follow-through. Each model picks a winner and writes its reasons. If the panel splits, no winner is recorded. You get the decision report and speaker scores, and the transcript stays with the round on your profile. It can still be wrong. Report the call, or appeal it and a person decides.

The decision refers only to what was said in the round. It never sees the camera.
No account to start
You can enter a live video round as a guest. Sign in with Google, Apple, or email when asked, after about ten minutes on the site and never during a round, to keep your rounds, decisions, and rating.
Camera on, face optional
Every debater is on camera, as themselves or as an avatar. You can leave, report, or block at any time.
Your choice of audience
Rounds start public, so spectators can watch. Tap Make private to keep yours between its participants. Recording requires consent.
The leaderboard
Rated live rounds against real people move you up or down the ladder. Debated before? Import your record and start with a real rating.
Watch and vote
Every public round is open to spectators. Watch live, give your verdict in the audience controls, or play a replay with the decision attached.
Trade debaters
On the Trade page you start with 1,000 free points and buy shares in debaters. Shares pay out on each debater’s rating at the end of the month. Nothing to buy, nothing to cash out.
Debate the AI
No one around? Argue with the AI by voice at any hour. It takes the other side and the same judging applies.
Challenge someone
Create a private invite for a friend, or post a challenge on a question and let someone take the other side.
Any language
Rounds run in 15 languages. In a live round each side speaks its own language, captions are translated, and the judges score each speech in its language.

How does matching work?
We look among people available now and pair you with the first one, unless you tap Want to personalize on the searching screen and tell us who you would rather meet. Both people accept before joining. If it is quiet, keep the tab open and we tell you the moment someone is ready, or invite a friend.
What if we cannot agree on a topic?
You do not have to. The room offers five topics, each of you strikes two, and the one left is the question. Strikes are blind until both people commit, so nobody is negotiating.
Can I keep the notes?
Yes. Open a saved round from your profile to read its transcript, notes, and decision. Use Export to Google Docs to keep a copy.
What if I disagree with the decision?
Report the call in a few taps, or appeal it. A person reviews the appeal. The judging page publishes the criteria, how often the models agree with each other, and the appeal policy.
How does the rating work?
Only rated live rounds against real people change your place on the leaderboard. Solo practice ranks your best judged score separately. The Trade page runs on the same ratings: each share pays out on the debater’s rating at the end of the month.
What does it cost?

What does “This House” mean?
It is an older way of phrasing a debate topic. “This House would ban X” asks whether X should be banned. For supports the ban; Against opposes it.
