Why a judge who ignores the side changes the argument
You cannot win by being right.
The AI judge follows a published rubric: claims, warrants, responses, weighing. It scores how well each side argued, not which position it prefers. So the person who dunks loses to the person who answered.
You cannot dodge the question.
The motion draft means you argue something both of you accepted. No moving the goalposts, no picking a fight the other side never agreed to have.
The clock ends the shouting.
Timed speeches mean both people get the floor and nobody can filibuster. When the clock stops, the round stops, and the decision comes back in writing.

What we will not run
Disagreement is the point. Being blindsided is not. Abortion and reproductive policy, sexual or domestic violence, suicide and self-harm, child abuse, graphic violence, capital punishment, and genocide are off the motion bank everywhere on the site, including custom motions. There is plenty left to fight about: immigration, billionaires, moderation, meritocracy, climate, policing, school, work, money, culture.

How do I find someone who disagrees with me to debate?
Open the live queue, pick Viewpoint clash when it asks how you want to be matched, and you are paired with another person who also asked to be challenged. The motion draft then puts you on opposite sides of a question you both accepted.
What if I do not want to answer questions first?
Press Skip. You get the first available person and a motion from the draft. The questions make the match sharper; they never gate it.
Does the judge take a side?
No. It scores how well each side argued against a published rubric. The rubric, the model panel, and the human appeal path are at /judge-integrity.
Do I have to show my face?
No. Avatar mode sends an animated mask instead of your camera, and you can turn the camera off entirely.
Are there topics you will not run?
Yes. Abortion, sexual or domestic violence, suicide and self-harm, child abuse, graphic violence, capital punishment, and genocide are off the bank everywhere.
