Schedule or join a debate

Two paths in: post your own, or accept someone else's.

Details
  • Posting: motion + side + format + when (Now / +30m / scheduled). Choose reveal, full motion, topic only, or theme only, to control how much the public board sees before kickoff.
  • Accepting: click any open card, confirmation modal explains what you're committing to, enter contact info + opt-in.
  • Already have a friend lined up? Click Schedule a human debate, pick a time, and send them the post.

Show up, embedded video

Click Start judged round on the accepted card. Both sides land on the same page. For two people per side, the host can choose Open 2v2 team seats before starting. Share the viewer invite and approve one teammate for each side.

Details
  • Video room embeds in the page: call on the left, speech panel on the right.
  • Allow camera + mic when the browser asks. Test by saying hi before the timer starts.
  • The room shows whose turn it is and keeps the same order on both screens.

during the round

Run the round, speech by speech

The shared timer keeps the speech order visible. Both sides see the same state.

Details
  • Active speaker hits ▶ Start speech when ready. The clock doesn't auto-start, so prep time is yours.
  • Mic auto-transcribes (Chrome / Safari). Space = pause/resume, M = mic, Enter = end speech.
  • Respond naturally during the open exchange, then end the speech when the clock is done.
  • Whoever is speaking does the typing/mic. The other side watches and preps their response.

AI ballot, both sides see it

After the last speech, the AI judge writes the decision on both screens.

Details
  • Winner plus speaker scores and the arguments that decided the round.
  • 3-6 sentence RFD naming the deciding clash and why one side won it.
  • Per-speaker feedback: what worked + one specific thing to fix.
  • Saved to both speakers' records. Copy or rematch in one click.
